4 Fantastic Spicy Cures For Strong Health And Incredible Looks

Alternative healers all over the world have been using spices & herbs for thousands of years, and even though many natural cures are often smiled at by “regular” practitioners, nutritional and/ or herbal medicine are  getting more and more popular among consumers.

Personally, I love spicing up my food to stay well & balanced and improve my appearance, as it is easy, effective, and tastes really good.

Here are four of my favorite “Spicy Cures” for great health and incredible looks.

1. Sage: Improves Your Mood, Memory & Tackles Acne

You might already know that sipping sage tea or sucking on sage drops helps against sore throats or stomach troubles.

But did you know that taking sage extract in supplement form has been shown to improve memory and mental performance in young people, as well as increase attention and memory in older participants?

Also, essential clary sage oil shows anti-septic, anti-bacterial and astringent properties, which makes it a powerful anti-acne cure.

If you are suffering from annoying pimples on your back, add about 30-40 drops of clary sage oil to the tub next time you have a bath and soak for at least 20 minutes. Repeat regularly and your “pimply days” will soon be forgotten.

2. Rosemary: Fights Cancer, Anxiety & Boosts Hair Growth

Rosemary does not only taste great with potatoes, garlic, onions or honey, its compounds effectively fight bacteria.

Medicinally, rosemary has been used to improve memory function, relieve muscle pain, prevent thrombosis or treat indigestion.

In addition, studies suggest that rosemary extract might inhibit both colon and breast cancer tumor growth by keeping cancerous cells from replicating.

Rosemary essential oil is also used to relieve and reduce anxiety, especially in combination with other oils such as lavender.

Are you suffering from hair loss? One study showed that people who massaged their scalps with rosemary, lavender, thyme, and cedar wood oil daily for 7 months experienced significant hair regrowth.

(Plus I bet their hair smelled really nice.)

3. Turmeric: Fights Inflammation, Depression & Delays Ageing

Did you know that turmeric powder is chock-full of micronutrients such as magnesium, iron, potassium, or vitamin B6?

Extensive research has been carried out regarding its main ingredient – curcumin – and numerous studies have shown that turmeric is incredibly effective to fight chronic diseases such as cancer, atherosclerosis, or neurodegenerative diseases.

It protects your liver, prevents type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease, and research suggests that it is as effective an antidepressant as Prozac (without the side effects).

Since turmeric is very high in antioxidants, it also delays ageing and makes your skin glow.

My favorite super quick turmeric face mask?

Blend half a cucumber in a food processor and combine with 0.5 tsp of turmeric powder. Apply on your skin for at least 15 minutes, rinse off with cool water, and tone your face with a little bit of rosewater.

Do this for seven nights in a row before going to bed and you’ll be blown away by the results.

4. Chili Pepper: Relieves Pain, Protects Your Heart & Drop Pounds

Chili peppers have been around for more than seven thousand years and are a great source of vitamins E and A (powerful antioxidants), vitamin B6, vitamin K, as well as copper and iron.

Their pungency is due to a substance called capsaicin which is used as a treatment for osteoarthritis pain in topical form. Also, chili peppers effectively protect your heart by reducing blood cholesterol levels and protecting the fat in your blood from oxidation aka free-radical damage.

Although many people believe that regular consumption of hot chili peppers may lead to stomach ulcers, the opposite is true: firstly, they kill bacteria you’ve ingested together with your food. Secondly, they promote secretion of protective juices in your stomach.

Have your love handles become a little too clingy? Spicing up your food with plenty of chili peppers is a great way to boost your metabolism by prompting naughty white fat to turn into helpful brown fat.

Aren’t all fat cells created equal? No they are not! White fat cells make you sick, whereas brown fat cells create heat and burn calories.
