Why I’m always Naked in My Nightmares. The Meaning Explained

3:14 AM

When we surrender to our slumber, more often than not, we slide into a world of dreams. And sometimes, these dreams can turn into nightmares. Strangely, it is the nightmares that we remember most clearly.

Have you ever wondered why they happen or what they mean? Well, nightmares are arbitrary conceptions of our subconscious, and have no deep interpretation or any kind of meaning behind them. However, they can mirror your thoughts and feelings. On that note, here are the ten most common nightmares that people experience when they are sleeping. The more interesting bit, though, is the interpretation.

1. Natural Disasters:

Being caught in the midst of a violent calamity is frightful! If that is what you are dreaming about, then this is what it could mean – it could be an indication of a sense of looming fear or anxiety. The fretfulness responsible for the nightmare could be due to even the smallest of fears in our daily lives. Just like the weather and calamities are unpredictable, the nature and level of your anxiety could be erratic too.

2. The Walking Dead:

This one can be really scary!! Imagine dreaming about someone who is already dead? The person in question could be your kith and kin or some random acquaintance. It could be someone who you lost recently, or someone who is long gone. But this sort of nightmare signifies the failure to let go. There are three reasons for you to have had this nightmare:

A. The most obvious – the struggle to cope with the recent loss, B) The fear of the unknown, and C) A trepidation of terminal illness.

3. Missing The Most Awaited/Important Events:

If you like an overstretched and fast-paced life, you could be dreaming about missing something as important as your wedding. This one also has a connection with deep-rooted anxiety, but it also has a lot to do with the fear of failure of living up to someone’s expectations.

4. Being Naked:

This nightmare seems more funny than scary, but being caught naked in public is definitely not the most pleasant thought, right? Trust me – it is no laughing matter, because it means you do not see yourself in the best light. You suffer from a low self-esteem and are extremely paranoid about what people think about you. If this is your story, sympathies!

5. Falling Teeth:

This is another nightmare that rides on the insecurities of the person experiencing it. This bad dream represents anxiety, unrest, and fear of being judged by the society (especially when it comes to your physical appearance).

6. Being Injured:

A dream, in which you find yourself injured, is often because of a weakness about yourself that you have just come to realize. Working on overcoming that weakness is also working on avoiding that nightmare.

7. A Partner Walking Away:

This one often finds a person in tears as they wake up to it. But it is a fairly simple nightmare in terms of interpretation. If you fear losing your partner, or if you are afraid of being left alone, this is what you might dream about. It also talks a lot about your insecurities, or you feeling unworthy of being in the relationship you are in right now.

8. Being Trapped:

If you have dreamt about being trapped, you suffer from the fear of confinement. You fear being in small places where you can’t move. But looking at the bigger picture, if you are experiencing these dreams, you are probably facing issues financially, or have reached a dead end in your career. These dreams indicate the disappointment of not utilizing your full potential.

9. Falling:

When you find that you are not in control of yourself, your finances, your relationship or even your career, you might find yourself dreaming about falling to death. Usually people at the top, who cannot take charge of a certain situation, experience this nightmare.

10. Being Chased Or Attacked:

This is probably the most common of all the common nightmares. When you are afraid of conflict, this is what you dream about – being chased or attacked by people, beasts, or ghosts. This dream signifies fear, and also the pressure of either a violent relationship or a bossy superior. This one is also quite interesting, as your actions against the attacker in your dream are influenced by how you tackle the problem in the real world.

Now that you have drawn up a correlation between your nightmares and your emotions, you needn’t be afraid of them anymore! Instead, all you need to do is face the problem and overcome it. A solution to a better and fearless life!
