Bikini waxing isn’t fair at all, but you must agree that it gives the sexiest sensation in the world. Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular bikini belle, here are few dos and don’ts that you should follow after getting down from that dreaded table!

We will help you to maximize the amazing results with a few post-bikini-wax-care steps to achieve the best out of your not-so-pleasant memory!

1. Say Yes To Loose Clothing!

Let your skin breathe! Say no to skin-tight clothing post the appointment, and instead bring out your loose cotton and breezy fabrics like harem pants to avoid irritation in the area.

You can give a miss to your panties as well, as they could cause itchiness.

2. Do Exfoliate And Moisturize!

Yes, exfoliation and moisturization in between your appointment are equally important to keep your skin soft and smooth.

Exfoliate your skin at least once a week with the body scrub. It helps to get rid of dead skin cells, prevents ingrown hair, and helps remove your hair easily at your next appointment.

However, avoid exfoliating for 3-5 days post the appointment (or else you can use natural loofahs for exfoliation).

3. Ditch Your Razors

It is always recommended to refrain yourself from removing small hair that shows up using a razor. You must instead wait for your next session. Your hair must at-least be about a quarter inch long to be waxed, and using a razor may interrupt the hair growth pattern; making it more difficult and painful to wax.

However, if you do get stuck and cannot wax, try epilating or a hair removal cream (but don’t touch your RAZOR!).

4. Keep Your Hands Away

You need to follow this one strictly! You have to resist your temptation of touching your freshly-waxed super-smooth skin for a day or two. I understand that’s something very difficult to do, but you have to!

Post waxing, the bikini area becomes more susceptible to germs as the hair follicles open up. Your fingernails carry a lot of germs, and touching your skin repeatedly can cause irritation leading to the appearance of bumps.

Now that means your partner also needs to refrain from touching you. (How sad)

5. Soothe Your Skin Post-Wax

There are plenty of products available in the market that can help to soothe your skin and also prevent hair growth. You can go with one of them, but make sure you stick to an oil-free and non-comedogenic product.

Avoid using harsh soap. Instead go for mild cleansers; Aloe Vera gels also work. They help soothe the sensitive area.

6. Stay Away From Heat

Post waxing, the pores on the skin are open and become more prone to bacterial infections. Opt for a cold shower instead of a hot one; otherwise you might get irritation leading to discomfort.

It’s better to stick with cold or lukewarm water until your hair follicles close.

7. Give A Break To Gym

Don’t hit the gym for at least a day after waxing. The reason being the sweat caused due to the workout can eventually lead to itchiness and irritation of the skin.

As the hair follicles are open, perspiration can also lead to some skin infection. Make sure you give yourself a one-day break from exercising.

So, be particular about your waxing appointments and get you bikini wax done every four to five weeks for soft and smooth skin!
