When it comes to nail painting, things get a bit messy sometimes. But visiting the salon every alternate week is not a good idea! There are some quick and creative tricks to paint your nails without draining your bank account with weekly salon appointments.
I’ve compiled some of the best nail painting hacks to ensure a salon-quality service at home. Check out these hacks and let me know if they worked for you!

1. The Vaseline Or Glue Hack:

Before applying a nail polish, rub petroleum jelly on the skin around your nails with a cotton swab. This will create a barrier between your skin and the nail polish so that after painting your nails, you can wipe off any polish mistakes along with the Vaseline. Now that’s called an easy cleanup!

Another hack to prevent the polish drying off on the skin is to paint the skin around your nail with a glue first. Once the glue is dry, apply nail polish over your nails and when you’re done, peel off the glue.

2. White Basecoat Hack:

To make your nail color pop, use a white nail polish as your basecoat. Apply a layer of white nail polish and let it dry. Then paint over it with your nail color and get the paint’s true color!

3. Scotch Tape Hack:

Now give your nails two-tone design with this simple hack!

Select your favorite combination of 2 nail paints; apply one coat of lighter nail polish on each nail and seal it with a clear top coat. Let it dry completely and then apply the strips of tape over your nails in the style you want. Pick your darker shade and apply a layer over entire nail on top of the tape. Once the paint is dry, grab the ends of tape and slowly peel them for a furnished look.

4. Custom Nail Shade Hack:

Make your custom nail shade by mixing a bit of eyeshadow with a clear nail polish in a spoon. Using a cotton swab, mix them together and try out your favorite color with a brush.

5. Ice Water Hack:

Are you in a hurry to go out, but your nail polish is still wet? Don’t panic, we have a super quick hack for you.
Soak your freshly painted nails in a bowl filled with ice and water for two minutes. Cold water will help to set the paint and let the nails dry faster.

Another trick is to spray a cooking spray over the nails to give your nail polish a quick dry!

6. Stubborn Lid:

Tired of opening the stubborn lid of your nail polish bottle? Follow these steps and make it easy:

Fill a glass with hot water. Maintain a level which is enough to soak the lid and not the entire bottle. Place the nail polish bottle upside down in that glass; wait for a few minutes and then open the loosened lid. Effortless trick, isn’t it?

What if you don’t have time to boil the water and wait for the lid to loosen? I do have an alternative for that as well! Just wrap a large rubber band around the nail polish bottle’s lid and then try to open it. Rubber band will provide a grip for twisting.

7. Prevent your polish from drying shut:

Wipe a small amount of petroleum jelly around the ridges on top of the bottle using a cotton swab and your bottle is now easy to open the next time! Vaseline prevents the polish from drying out and sealing the lid.

8. Broken Nail Hack:

Fix your broken nail with this super cool hack. Cut a portion of teabag in the shape of your broken nail, fix it with nail glue and then coat it with your favorite color. Ta-da, you’re back with your beautiful nails!
