How To Do Valentine’s Day Makeup?

4:29 AM

No matter what your relationship status is, we are aware how difficult it is to get the flirty Valentine’s Day look right – that is, apart from getting a date. And if you are one of those women who are struggling with their beauty needs, then don’t worry. We’ve got all covered for ya! From soft makeup, classic crimson lips, to sweet blushes and modern eye flicks, these tips and tricks will take your date-night look to another level. So, read ahead as we get an easy-peasy look for you to achieve at home…

1. Face-Off:

Cleansing:

For a pink-y skin – yes, that is this season’s hottest makeup hue – start your look by cleansing with a gentle cleanser. We love this soap-free face wash Kiehl’s Centella Skin Calming Facial Cleanser, for it clears away every last trace of dirt when massaged. The cleanser leaves your skin looking young, fresh and soft.

Moisturize:

After cleansing comes another crucial element, which is moisturizing your skin. We recommend RoC Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Daily Moisturizer. Not only does the product combat dry and sensitive skin, but will leave your skin with a healthy glow. Another key point is this all-in-one hydrating formula works as an anti-aging cream.

Primer:

Now for a base that will help your makeup to stay put all day, apply Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer. It’s a silky primer that does exactly what it says on the tube. If you have greasy skin, the formula absorbs a lot of unwanted oil, and also doesn’t cause breakouts. It’s our favorite.

Foundation:

To fully embrace the minimal makeup look, dab a small amount of By Terry Sheer-Expert Perfecting Fluid Foundation to your cheeks and forehead. The hydrating foundation makes your face appear super-dewy and hides your imperfections.

Tip: Make use of dual-fiber brushes and buff them in circular motions until you see a smooth finish. Remember not to go crazy with foundation.

Blush:

First, apply Too Faced Full Bloom Crème Blush in poppy-color to your cheekbones. Next, apply a product such as the Loreal True Match Super-Blendable Compact Makeup, a brush-on powder that matches the skin tone and creates a natural glow.

2. Amp Up The Eyes:

Concealer:

Start by using a concealer on the eyelids to help reduce wrinkles, dark circles, and puffiness. We prefer Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer, which incorporates vitamins A and E and covers all your trouble spots.

Tip: For a blemish-free look, you can apply the concealer on your face after your foundation sets in. This will cover all your imperfections, doesn’t cake or get oily, and works perfectly even in the heat.

Eye Shadow:

Some nights call for simple but flattering eye makeup, and ladies, valentine’s day is one of those days. Start with applying a pale pink shadow; we recommend our favorite Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette all over the eye.

Cat-Eye:

While you may think of a feline flick to be nothing but a one-hit wonder, we are sure this versatile look will help you crank up this retro look. Once done with your eyeshadow, take Chantecaille’s Le Stylo Ultra Slim Liquid Eyeliner, and wing a thin black liner on your lid and drag it to the outer corner of your eye. Now apply a double coat of Soap and Glory Thick & Fast Super Volume Mascara.

3. Lips:

Red Alert:

Though we can go 365 days, and 24/7 hours with the bold pout, every valentine’s day we make sure we go all classic red with our lips. #BeKissable

Begin by prepping your dry lips with Dior Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm SPF 10. Next, line your lips with Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil, and apply a limited-edition Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Matte Sculpting Lipstick in Restless. Follow this by blotting your lips onto a tissue. Once done, apply another layer of lipstick.

Follow these quick and flattering makeup tips and go shine like a diamond. Let us know if you have liked this post by leaving us a comment in the box below!
