5 Clever Hacks Every Girl Who Loves Heels Must Know

Heels or any other shoes for that matter have a powerful effect on women. Despite the admiration, they’re notorious for causing glee at first but much pain later. Are you looking to minus pain from the equation? Well, look no further, dear friend. Sit back and let’s talk heels.

How Well Do You Know Your Heels?

To start off, you know they look cute. Of course, otherwise you wouldn’t invest your time and finances in them. But if any newbie is asked, you know they’d say heels are not easy to carry off. To safely say your shoe investment will pay off long-term (meaning you will wear them more than once), consider these.

  • Are your heels comfortable?
  • What type of heels suit your feet?
  • What height of the heels should you go for?
  • Did you break-in new heels?
  • How long are you wearing them?

1. Comfort First:

When you see a good pair of heels, good must mean they fit like second skin. Looking good is secondary. Even if these particular heels are on a discount, you must restrain from buying an ill-fitting product.

Considering you gave in anyway, take slightly loose-fitting heels. These can always mould your feet after a few adjustments. Either the cobbler could tighten it or you can use insole padding. Remember, your feet should ‘not’ slide inside the shoe.

A tight shoe will create too much pain to wear it again. Also, leave shoe shopping for the evenings when your feet are at their largest.

2. Heels For You:

Everyone is made differently, including your shoes. The market is full of options such as pumps, peep toes, stilettos, platforms, wedges, kitten heels, strappy sandals and more. Get the ones that you can walk on without the world going upside down.

My personal understanding is that peep toes and open heels are for those who are lucky enough to have dainty feet. If not, pamper them immediately with a pedicure. Thick heels and wedges are best for anybody who’s new.

3. As Tall As You:

Some of us never fail to compare ourselves to someone taller. Looking tall can signify authority. But, for most girls, wearing high heels gives that added touch to look their glamorous best.

Those beginning their trip towards getting taller should always start with the smaller heels. Two inches should do. Increase the heel height as your body adjusts to it.

4. Pain, Pain, Pain:

Break-in new heels after they come home. I understand they’re new, but this you have to do. Wear them and walk on different surfaces. This helps to ease stiffness and prevents the dreaded sores.

You know it does not work to wear heels to a special occasion for the first time. The pain closely resembles fire in the heels.

5. Always By My Side:

Heels do look good. You might say it makes you tower over the others.

Nevertheless, wearing them all day is not advisable. This is not my advice alone but of the shoe experts. One should take a break from wearing their heels with other flatter shoes. Why oh why!

Walking Gracefully In Heels:

Why are heels not worn for long stretches? You’ve got to get the walking right.

The principle purpose of heels is to make you look swanlike. So, tumbling across the path is not allowed, is it?

  • When wearing heels, imagine a straight line in your path and stick to it.
  • Do not look down, keep your head pointed ahead.
  • Similarly, keep you posture straight.
  • Take small, confident steps. Strictly no running.
  • Sit wherever possible to rest your legs. Maybe you will also avoid tripping over your own feet.
  • When you walk, you must first place the heel on the ground, followed by the toe.
  • Now, try and look as if you’ve been born with heels.

You can wear heels and continue to do so with practice. No sweat! Did you find the post helpful? Please leave a comment below!
