An Easy Guide To Sassy DIY Bangs In Five Minutes
12:58 AMAnushka Sharma, Kareena Kapoor, Mila Kunis, Angelina Jolie – you name them and they have had it. Whether you are downright hot, or are the cutest thing on the planet, those sharp bangs will suit you all. And in that moment of impulse when you feel the intense need for those sassy bangs, all you need is a neat pair of shears and you can do them yourself.
Yeah, you heard me! There is no need to run to the salon just to get that fringe; you can even do it in the middle of the night. But hey, precision is the key, and there is no scope to go wrong since it will become the focal point in your face.
Follow these steps to get those bangs with ease:
1. Getting Started With The Right Equipment:
First, you need to get yourself a well-lit room, and a nice big clear mirror. The task at hand is a tedious one, so make sure you put on some good music and clear any distraction from the area. Now, coming to the most important ammunition – the haircutting shears and a nice sleek comb. Using a safety scissors or cuticle scissors is a sin. Never ever use them.
2. Review That Style:
Bangs could take a while to grow, so you want to be absolutely sure before you chop that hair off. It is quite sensible to style your hair and fold in a little at the forehead to see how the bangs fit into your perfect look.
3. Getting Set:
Style reviewed? Good to go? Now get your hair into a nice tight ponytail, and pull out the hair in the front just enough to form that jaunty fringe. Comb that hair, such that it stays nice and flat. Once all this is done, coming to the main chopping bit is much easier. All focus must be put on that fringe, and you must also know where exactly you need to trim. A quick tip – make sure your hair is absolutely dry while cutting those bangs, or else it might get shorter than you expect.
4. Getting The Right Cut:
Using your comb, frisk through from underneath the strands, and pull through until you get the desired length. Now, holding the shears vertically, start making tiny cuts into your fringe, right below the mark of your comb. You need to make sure you start from the middle to left, and then the middle to right.
5. Trimming The Outer Left & The Outer Right Side:
Your comb is your best guide; inset it beneath those freshly cut bangs again, and twitch it down. This will make cutting the left and right outer sides much easier. The trick here is to hold the scissors at a 45-degree angle and then gradually cut into the fringe. The best thing you can do while you are chopping those bangs is to keep it straight at the center of your forehead, and leave it longer towards the outer sides.
If you are right handed, which you most likely are (considering only 10% of the population is left handed), it could be a little difficult to trim the left side. Hence, it is recommended that you cross your right arm over your body, such that it is close to your body, and not up in the air. This will help steady your hand.
Move slowly and meticulously while you cut the left side, so that you are sure you aren’t making mistakes.
6. Checkmate:
Now flip those bangs a little, and make sure they are falling where they should. If they aren’t, go over and chop off what needs to be chopped. Check and recheck until you are sure about your look.
7. Clean Up:
Once you are sure of the cut, and are happy with what you look like, brush away the tiny hair bits on your face and neck with a nice fluffy makeup brush. Another tip would be to use a lint remover to pick out those pesky bits of hair in a jiffy with a single swoosh.
Bang on! You are set and ready to roll.
