Get Glam: Seven Steps to Take Your Makeup from Day to Night

11:58 PM

We all apply makeup (at least sometimes!), but do our techniques yield the best possible results? In this post, we are offering some simple pointers to learn how to carry your makeup from the morning till the night, without giving a start over to it.
Your night time look might need a little more of a sparkle than that of the day. Learn the basic beauty hacks and do wonders with a simple touch-up of makeup.

1. Make Blotting Paper Your BFF:

Always keep cleansing wipes handy to wipe your face if it is too messy or if your eye makeup has smeared down your eyes. Or else you can just use a blotting paper to blot the shine away.
Once you’re fresh, you’re all set to give a start to your face.
Quick Tip: T-zone is the area that tends to maximize oil build-up and add shine to your face – so pay extra attention towards that!

2. Add A Pretty Flush!:

Try to keep your look natural at work with some primer and a light layer of tinted moisturiser over it. Don’t forget sunscreen.
A good base is the secret to having a long-lasting fresh look on your face!
You can use a compact foundation to achieve a fresh base instead of going for a liquid or cream foundation!
Quick Tip: To catch the candlelight, use your blush brush and sweep the highlighter on your cheekbones and on the Cupid’s bow.

3. Pump Up Your Graceful Eyes!:

For daytime, keep the eyes light – just add a light color to your waterline. Try to keep it simple. A single eyeshadow, eye liner, and mascara are more than enough.
Turn over to smokey eyes in the evening. You can go with an eyeshadow a little darker than that in the day time. This will help in enhancing your eyes and will give them a more defined look.
Quick Tip: Refresh the eyeliner on your eyelid and increase its thickness to give a bolder look.

4. Don’t Over-Do The Mascara!:

Do not use mascara again in the evening if you have already applied it in the morning. This is because applying a new coat over an older coat will result in the formation of clumps. If not, go ahead & swipe 2 coats freely.

5. Perfect The Contour!:

Although contouring your face can take a long time, you can go with a trimmed down version that can be finished in a flash.
Use a natural pink blush in the morning and amp it up by using a bronzer around it in the evening to get that chiselled face.
Quick Tip: You can also apply shimmer powder on the skin around your collar bone, shoulders, and cleavage.

6. Enhance The Look By Swapping Your Lipstick!:

Wear a natural lip shade during the day and pump it up in the evening with a swipe of gloss with gold or silver shimmer in it (depending on what you’re wearing, of course).
If you’re stepping out with a heavy eye makeup, make sure you don’t overdo it on your lips. However, if you wish to go out with a bright shade of lipstick, then prefer a lighter shade of eyeshadow.
If you try to highlight the eyes and lips together, it will leave you look more like a circus clown! (Now you don’t want that, do you?)
Quick Tip: Run a piece of ice over your lips before applying the gloss to help color last for a longer time. And Ta-da, you’re done!

7. Cut The Frizz!:

Massage a good amount of dry shampoo if you want to volumize your hair. If you want to cut the day frizz, quickly spray your hair and tame away the baby hair to give a sleek and elegant look for the evening.
Keep all your essentials in your bag, and a quick visit to the restroom is enough to take you from the board room to the dance floor!
Wasn’t that super quick? Time to head out of the door!
