Another study is being conducted under the direction of Dr. Supriya Bavadekar, an assistant professor of pharmacology at the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Division of the Long Island University. The study has shown that carvacrol had effectively killed the cancer cells in a patient suffering from prostate cancer. According to Dr. Bavadekar, when carvacrol was used in different concentrations and for varying periods against the prostate cancer cells in humans, the cancer cells were completely inhibited.

The team of researchers also believes that carvacrol can be equally effective against breast cancer and other types of cancer. The preliminary reports of using oregano oil on cancer cells have been positive. To the surprise of everyone, the study that was carried out at different varying times, including 96 hours, 48 hours and 24 hours, showed that carvacrol in oregano oil was 100% successful in inhibiting the cancer cells of different types.
