Do you switch between different looks and search the internet for makeup tips to hide your freckles? If you follow the latest fashion trends, you must know that freckles, right now, are in vogue. Many fashion designers give their models faux freckles for the runway. So when you put on makeup, don’t hide your freckles. Celebrate them by enhancing your look around them.

On that note, would you like to know what would be the right kind of makeup for you if you have freckles? Keep reading!

1. Face:

The biggest mistake bearers of freckles do is in the base makeup, where they try to match up the colour of the foundation with the freckles. The problem with this is that if you use a light foundation, the freckles look grey, and if you choose a dark shade to conceal your freckles, your face looks unnaturally dark. Starting with the concealer, cover your blemishes, but don’t try to cover the freckles.

For foundation, pick a colour that falls between your skin tone and the freckles. Ditch heavy cream or liquid foundations that don’t allow your freckles to shine through. Instead, switch to mineral foundation powder. It makes your face light up. You can use BB cream or tinted moisturizers in the place of powder. This will keep your freckles visible, but in a muted, yet natural manner. If you are intent on wearing liquid foundation, find a very sheer formula. Also, freckles are darkened with exposure to sun. So make sure you wear sunscreen. Moisturizers with SPF would work just as well. Also, if you have freckles, skip the mineral shimmer powder.

2. Cheek:

If you have a freckled face, cool toned bronzers are suitable for you. A dusting of light bronzer around your cheekbones will give your face definition, but will not overshadow your freckles. You can use either powder or cream, even though you need to be careful with cream bronzer. Dip a large fluffy brush in a bronzing powder, give it a light tap to shake off excess powder. With this brush, draw a single or at most two swipes under your cheekbones. This will make your cheeks glow, and your freckles shine.

You can also use a blush to give your cheeks a peachy glow. Use a large brush to dab some light pink blush on the apples of your cheeks. Steer clear of brown toned blushes as they can make your cheeks seem muddy along with the freckles.

3. Lip:

Lipstick assembles your features and makeup in a look. If you have freckles around your lips, try to line your lip with a nude lip liner. A red or pink lip liner would work too. Cover your lips with a moisturizing balm and fill in with the lip liner. On top of this, use a dark pink or bright coral lipstick. If you want to go bold with your freckles and really celebrate them, use a pinkish brown lipstick. It will draw out your freckles, and you can wear them with pride.

4. Eye:

You can do an old Hollywood 60’s glamour look with drawn-out cat eyes. Use a neutral shade of eyeshadow to coat your eyelids. The emphasis lies on your lashes, so don’t go overboard with your lids. Now use a pencil to draw a straight line across the upper lashes and end in a long wing tip – a typical feature of the cat eye. Now use a black gel liner to retrace the line. You can keep the lower lashes as they are or use a nude eye pencil to trace the water line. Two coats of mascara on the lashes would seal the look. You can switch the black liner with blue, purple or brown to play with your look.

You can also try a more casual, smokey eye. Just line your top and bottom lashes with a brown pencil liner and smudge with your ring finger. It creates a smokey look that you can define with a thin tight line of brown or black liner.

Sport your freckles with pride. Who said freckles are a bane? With these tips, you can look your best even with those tiny brown freckles!
