8 Simple Tricks To Do Cheerleading Makeup

3:29 AM

Have you been selected to be a part of your school’s cheerleading squad? Are you unsure of how to do dress up on the day of the big game? It is time to rejoice, and not worry! However, cheerleading does not translate to just being agile and on your feet. You also need to look your best when cheerleading.

On that note, this post has come up with a number of brilliant makeup ideas that can make your day a memorable one! Would you like to know more? Do read this post.

1. Lay Low On Foundation:

Do not apply a thick layer of foundation. You want to get an even complexion, but blend as much as you can with a little amount of foundation. Being heavy handed with foundation could be disastrous, especially if you are out in the sun for long hours. The heavy layer of makeup could slide off with sweat. Use an almost liquid foundation to give good coverage.

2. Sunscreen:

Sunscreen is a must for outdoor games. A standard BB cream would do. If you want, you can also put a sunscreen on your face before applying makeup. Buy specific SPF sunscreen if the game is supposed to go on for a long time. Buy the sunscreens that have ‘sheer’ or ‘dry feel’ on their labels.

3. Blush:

A clear pink or peach colored blush is best because it adds a highlight without looking heavy. Do not use too much on the side of your face, and it should not look like a streak. Use translucent powder to blend the color into your face.

4. Dramatic Eyes:

Even if your makeup is quite light, you can add drama to the eyes. Use waterproof gel eyeliner so that it doesn’t run in sweat. Keep a Q-tip handy to remove any mistakes before the gel sets. To blend the line on the top, dust a little eyeshadow for a smoky, flawless look. Under the bottom lashes, use a waterproof pencil and smudge it with your finger. Use two coats of mascara on the top eyelashes only. Do not use any on the bottom lash as it may make your eyes look heavy.

5. Lips:

Do not use bold and dark colored lipsticks. Nude shades like peach and pink work great. In fact, you can skip the lipstick completely and opt for a lightly colored chapstick. Gloss or shimmer also adds to the fresh faced look.

6. Glitter And Rhinestones:

This is a part of the makeup that you can easily skip. But if you are intent on adding sparkles to your look, be subtle. Do not add glitter randomly or completely all over your face. Use a dab of champagne glitter on the inner corners of your eyes. Pair a natural, matte eye shadow with glitter by adding a dab of it in the centre of the eyelid. Using makeup glue, stick a couple of rhinestones above the eyelash near the outer edge of the eyelids. But again, refrain from adding too many rhinestones as you do not want to look like a circus performer.

7. Deodorant, And Not Perfume:

This is not makeup per se, but do not use heavy doses of perfume before cheerleading. The heavy musk and sweat do not mix well. Instead, spray deodorant on your body before putting on your clothes.

8. Bun, Braid Or Ponytail:

A bun or braid is great for keeping your hair tidy. If you are braiding, make sure the braids are close to your head and not flailing around freely. If you do a ponytail, which is traditional for its characteristic bounce, make sure you use plenty of bobby pins to keep the hair out of your face.

With these simple makeup tips, the crowd will be gazing at you and not the game! After all you are no less than a star!
