7 Ultimate Makeup Hacks For Belly Dancers
5:32 AMYou’ve got the moves and that dress, but the most important question still remains: How do you transform your makeup from conventional to extraordinary? Don’t worry, we understand no matter how much of a belly dancer you are, the right kinda makeup is required to help you stand out underneath the bright lights. With that said, read ahead for a quick how-to.
1. Au Naturale:
Let’s get this out straight: a belly dancers’ eye-poppingly colourful makeup is everything you need. Romantic, glam, fresh and natural, the look can help you stand out from the crowd. Now to recreate this dewy skinned look – like the one on the picture above – opt for minimal makeup with a little shadow, beautiful cat-eye, a sweep of mascara and a nude lip.
1. Cover Up:
To duplicate the look, apply an oil-free foundation all over your face. We recommend Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation, which evens skin tone and help you achieve an overall glow. Awesome, right?
2. Conceal It Right:
Once done, dab the concealer, like Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer on the troubled area in a rolling, pressing motion with clean fingers and blend it evenly. Ensure you stay put your concealer by applying Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder afterwards.
Tip: While checking on your concealer, always mix products on the back of your hand.
3. Get Blushed!:
Finally, add some blush for your face to accentuate your complexion. For an extra highlighting effect, we prefer a matte finish CoverGirl Cheekers Blush in Pretty Peach, perfect to make you blush all day.
2. Eye-Catcher:
For complementary eye makeup, look no further than big lashes and cat-eye, both classic and incredibly versatile.
A cat-eye is gorgeous, modern, and edgy all at once, and perfect to carry a simple belly dancer dress. Now to achieve this runway hit take a jet-black waterproof pencil, like Yves Saint Laurent Waterproof Eye Pencil and line the inner rim of your lash lines carefully. Once done, create a thick almond-shaped cat-eye by using Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner and angle it towards the brown bone. If you’re bored with the cat-eye – which is unlikely – you can replace it with something more inspired.
1. Lash It Out:
Finish off the eye makeup by curling (we love SUQQ Lash Curlers) and piling on heavy coats of ultimate mascara on your top and bottom lashes. We are a big fan of water-resistant and ultra black Blinc Mascara P46017, which adds extra length, helps you separate every last lash and instantly frame your face. What more can you ask for!?!
Tip: To prevent the clumps, wipe off excess mascara on a tissue paper and wiggle the brush back and forth at the base of your lashes, follow it by swiping on the tips.
3. Lips That Don’t Lie!
Universally flattering and easy-to-apply; remember that nude lips are the beauty style statement of a belly dancer.
So to recreate the look, begin with applying Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, the balm will moisturize and softens your lips. Now take the thin tissue paper and blot the extra moisture from your lips. Next, outline the lips with a Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk, and fill in with nude or slightly petal pink lipstick. We recommend MAC Creme d’Nude Lipstick and Kevyn Aucoin Matte Lip Color in Evermore. Once done, pat concealer around your lips and blot it with a thin tissue to remove excess lipstick.
