Shocking! The Subway Guy Who Lost 200 Pounds Was Just Sentenced For Child Pornography

1:16 AM

Remember the Subway guy, Jared Fogle, who lost 200 pounds on the Subway diet? Well, he was just sentenced to 15 years in prison for…. get this – sex with minors and distribution of child pornography. He’s going to serve a total of 188 months in prison and pay $175,000 fine. He’s already agreed to pay $1.4 million in restitution to the 14 victims, as part of a plea bargain agreement.
There was a raid in July this year after a female acquaintance turned him in when Jared asked her to engage in bestiality. It gets worse! When the police raided Jared’s house, they found 500 videos and a whole bunch of images of children as young as nine.
Fogle also used to spend at least $10,000 a year on prostitutes. He allegedly used to offer a finder’s fee to these prostitutes if they helped him procure younger girls.
There was also a testimony from Dr. John Bradford, a forensic psychiatrist, at the sentencing hearing, who said that Fogle was mostly attracted to older female teenagers who were 16 and 17 years old, not prepubescent children.
Prosecutors, however, countered this testimony that claimed that Fogle was attracted to older teenagers by reading a text from Fogle in which he said he wanted younger prostitutes, “the younger, the better.”
Dr. Bradford also stated that Fogle had an alcohol problem, and that he had developed a compulsive eating disorder that got swapped for sex addiction after he became “hypersexual” after losing weight.
The police have so far identified 12 victims of child pornography in the United States, and two teenage victims of child prostitution, according to documents from the court.
Fogle’s alleged co-conspirator was Russell Taylor, who helped Fogle obtain child pornography, which included homemade material involving these victims.
Fogle has stated that he was sexually attracted to children as young as eight years old, the government said.
Subway had terminated its relationship with Fogle in July after the raids were reported in the media. Fogle agreed to plead guilty in August this year to two counts – one count of distribution and receipt of child pornography, and a second count of traveling to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor.
Jared Fogle, who became famous after he claimed to have lost 200 pounds on the Subway Diet, was signed up by Subway as their brand ambassador and started promoting Subway sandwiches as a healthy meal option.
We all preferred eating Subway because we thought it was healthy too and photos of Jared –The Subway Guy at the stores and Subway’s promotions were perhaps strong reasons why we thought so. Hopefully, that still remains true, although there has been a lot of talk about the quality of ingredients used in Subway sandwiches, and the fact that Subway uses artificial ingredients in its sandwiches
In fact, Fogle was such a strong brand for Subway that according to AdAge, sales fell 10% after commercials featuring him briefly stopped airing in 2005.
Today, Fogle formally pleaded guilty before Federal Judge Tanya Walton Pratt. In his statement, Fogle apologized for his crimes, and said that he wanted a chance to become a “good, honest person” and “redeem my life” after leading a life of “deception, lies, and complete self-centeredness.”
