How To Do Pastel Goth Makeup?

The pastel goth look in 2015 has evolved and almost everyone has begun getting creative and very innovative in flaunting a style or two. Before we go any further, let’s take a look at the basics of pastel goth, which would give us more ideas and a better understanding on this particular fantasy makeup concept!

The Basics Explained:

1. Starting With The Hair:

Let us consider the look of our hair. Should we colour it or should we not? If you do choose to have your hair coloured, it would be platinum blonde, blackish or nearly whitish, and sometimes the colour of pastel chalks – lilacs, mints, lavender, baby pinks and blues, etc.

You could think of having an out-of-bed look with the hair, or straighten it too. Some prefer curling their hair, while others think of braiding them. But if your hair is long and big, the pastel goth look comes about easily. You may also use hair extensions in pastel shades, should you prefer not colouring your hair.

Don’t forget to use bone clips, skeleton hands, etc. – accessories for the hair to complete one part of the pastel goth look!

2. The Makeup:

  • Pastel goth makeup is usually matte and this can be done with the help of white powder from a reputed company, should you not have a matte foundation around.
  • The eyes are to be bare, and only smudged with black eyeliner on top.
  • The bottom lash line should have white eyeliner.
  • Natural and nude pastel shadows for the lids should be used.
  • Fake eyelashes and mascara are a must to wear.
  • Without overdoing it, any shade of blush can be used.
  • Plum and black, dark red or orange, purple or green – lipstick shades are best to use.
  • Heavy bronzers are a must to wear.

Easy Steps For The Pastel Goth Look:

  1. Begin with cleansing, toning and moisturizing your skin.
  2. Dab a little foundation of pale colours on to the skin and with your fingers, dab the cream all over the face.
  3. Use a blending foundation sponge to even the patches and the look.
  4. Use white powder generously to bring on the chalky look.
  5. With the help of a blending brush, gently blend the foundation and the powder.
  6. Eyeliner is optional, but a pop of colour on the lids of the eyes is a must.
  7. Once the eyeshadow is put on the crease and the socket, use a darker metallic shade as a highlighter near the brow bone.
  8. Use a blending brush to bring on a smokey pastel look to the eyes.
  9. Plum or dark purple, we leave that to you – deep dark coloured lipsticks should be creepy enough for the lips, or maybe a touch of colour with pinks and orange shades.
  10. Get your hair coloured or use hair extensions if you aren’t using the colour.

A beanie hat is a must!

Here were the ways on how to bring about the pastel goth look for the party tonight, and now it is time for you to pick up the right accessories and clothes for the evening too. You should always have unicorns for company; every self-respectful pastel goth carries one on him or her.

Unicorns should be something you are familiar with, and hence pick them in pastel shades, rainbows or fairy sparkle. They are your best mascots and BFFs to have at a party, and more on the Japanese lines of the Hara-kiri fashion statements – the pastel look with Kawaii touches bring about the goth creep from within!
