The last time I tried drying my hair was the time I questioned my own existence. I mean, seriously. A simple thought of washing my hair gave me creeps.

But then something magical happened. I came across six amazing ideas that could help my hair dry faster (and when I say faster, I mean it).

Would you too like to check out what they are? I bet you do!

1. Use A Conditioner:

This may sound weird while we are talking about how to make wet hair dry faster, but you need to hear me out! A conditioner not only rehydrates your hair after a wash, but also repels water. It includes coatings that stick to the hair and let water slide off the hair instead of getting absorbed. Always use a conditioner post shampoo, as it helps to seal in the moisture once you are done with your hair wash.

2. Remove Excess Water:

Don’t ever walk out of the shower with dripping wet hair. Gently squeeze out excess water using your hand prior to using a towel, and fluff your hair so that the strands get separated and detangled. This will remove the excess water from your hair and will let your hair dry faster.

3. Shake Your Hair Out:

Shake out the water well by flipping your hair upside down. You can also divide your hair into sections and wring them gently before stepping out of the shower. It will help you get rid of the remaining water once you are ready to wrap a towel over your head.

4. Blot With A Towel:

Whenever you dry your hair, try not to ruffle. Instead, blot your hair in different sections. Every time you move on to a new section, try to use a dry patch on the towel so that the maximum amount of water is removed.

To help speed up the process, try to focus on your roots first. Roots are usually the last area to dry, so make sure to remove water from the roots and cut down your time on drying.

Once the blotting is done, you can use a towel and wrap your hair up. Meanwhile you can move along with your normal routine. The towel will perform its task of absorbing the moisture. But make sure you are checking it periodically. Rewrap your hair in a dry towel if you feel the towel has become too wet.

You can also get a microfiber towel that is highly absorbent and helps in minimizing breakage. However, if your hair is curly, try using an old 100% cotton T-shirt to avoid frizz.

5. Comb With A Wide-Tooth Comb:

Although it’s recommended not to comb your hair while it’s damp, you can switch to a wide-tooth comb to detangle the strands and promote air flow. This helps to keep the frizz down and reduces the damage done to wet hair.

6. Blow-Dry With Product:

Use your hair dryer to help your hair dry faster, but make sure you apply mousse that will coat the hair shaft, help to cut down on the drying time and avoid frizz. Part your hair in sections and blow dry at a low temperature to reduce the damage. Whenever you blow dry, always start with the bottom sections so that you don’t end up rewetting the sections you’ve already dried.

TIP: To speed up your blow drying, go for a dryer with at least 1,800 watts of power. A high power dryer gets the work done faster than the lower voltage ones.
