For your casual day out, wear low-cut dresses this summer á la Lauren Conrad. The American television personality at the MTV Video Awards kept her look classy. In case you want to recreate the look, just pull your hair at the back and tousled, keep accessories minimal and make-up flawless.

To recreate Conrad’s simple and laidback makeup, follow these steps:

Face:

  • Prep your skin by deep cleansing first with Sephora Collection Triple Action Cleansing Water, and follow this by gently exfoliating with Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser and moisturise with a light and smooth lotion, likeSabon Carrot Facial Moisture Lotion.
  • Next, apply Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer to help provide a soft and smooth base for your makeup, cover pores and hide blemishes.
  • Now, use a right and long-wear foundation to match your makeup. We recommend Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer + Spf. Once applied, blend the foundation to match your skin tone.
  • Once done, dust a CK One Color Cream + Powder Bronzer Duo on your cheekbones. Add a light swipe of M.A.C. Cremeblend Blush to the tops of your cheeks and create a healthy glow.

Eyes:

  • Get her look to draw attention to your eyes…
  • For a flawless eye makeup, start with applying a light concealer, like NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.
  • Next, apply neutral eyeshadow, like Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eye Shadow on the lid and use a brush to blend well into your eyelids.
  • Once done, use black gel eyeliner like Essence Gel Eye Pencil Waterproof to line and enhance your upper waterlines. Just extend and thicken the eyeliner towards the outer crease.
  • Finish the look with liberal coats of Maybelline The ColossalVolum’Express Mascara.

Lips:

  • Complete the look with a swipe of nude lipstick. Here, Lauren has opted for a smooth and high-shine shade of nude. We recommend Chanel Rouge Coco Shine inCanotier.

2. Date Night:

If you are looking for compliments on your beauty look, opt for a subtly sexy eye makeup with form-fitting sequined mini dress – rather than full-on gown or flesh-flashing – like Lauren Conrad at the 2nd Annual Autumn Party – who gets extra points for giving her hair a touch of old-school Hollywood glamour. Pair your dress with nude heels and a matching bag – Perfection!

Face:

  • First and foremost, prepare your skin by cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising.
  • Second, apply a primer, like Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer, to help adjust your skin tone and achieve a flawless look. Use your makeup brush or even your fingertips and carefully blend it.
  • For a rosy radiance, add Tarte Cheek Stain to the apples of your cheeks. The stain perfectly blends and moisturises your skin.

Eyes:

  • Clean your eyes with Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish.
  • Now apply a flawless concealer for a more radiant finish.
  • Once the concealer sets, use a makeup brush (or even your index finger) to blend Make Up For Ever Pro Bronze Fusion bronzers, all over lids.
  • Take the same brush and layer on a creamy, neutral eyeshadow likeMakeup Forever Cream Eyeshadow.
  • Next, apply double coats of smudge-free Mega Volume Miss Manga Mascara All Blackon your lashes for a not-so-dramatic look.
  • Now for the double eyeliner – first apply a thick line of yourSuperlinerBlackbusterEyelinerto your lash line and the slightly outer corner of your eye for a winged eye.
  • Follow this by another layer of Clio’sGelpressoPastel collection inMintade over the black liner.

Lips:

  • To add a touch of modern to your retro look, use NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Jardin Des Plantes.

If you are attending a wedding this season – do channel sleek, low-slung bun with wispy tendrils, like how Lauren Conrad did at VH1 Save the Music Foundation Gala. The actress looked gorgeous in this Topshop tiered seemed maxi dress, siren dark lipstick and bronze make-up.

To master Lauren’s spellbinding look at home, read our tutorial below:

Face:

  • Begin your makeup routine with cleansing your face with a regulating cleaner, like Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa Revitalizing Foaming Gel Cleanser.
  • Next, apply a primer to create a smooth surface for your makeup. We usually use Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner.
  • Now, dab Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus All-Smooth Makeup Foundation SPF 15 to even out your skin tone.
  • Once done, apply Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Moisturizing Bronzing Powderto enhance your pale complexion.
  • For the finishing touch, apply a wash of rosy pink blusher like Lauren did – Bourjois Cream Blush in 01 Nude Velvetwill be perfect.

Eyes:

  • Prepare your eyes with a moisturizing cleanser, like Juara Rice Facial Cleanser. Follow the step by applying a concealer, Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Eyes to camouflage your imperfect skin.
  • Now the next step is to even out your skin. We recommend our go-to foundation, Sensai Cellular Performance Cream Foundation.Just dab it from the inner corners of your eyes and blend it towards the hairline.
  • Once done applying a light foundation, use a neutral eyeshadow (Sephora Collection in Almost Nude 09) to the base of the eyelids.
  • Use smudge-freeMark. WhatA LineMax Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner (Lauren’s favourite as well) and outline your upper lash line. Make sure you flick a bit at the outer corner.
  • To get lush eyelashes, apply a generous coat ofMaybelline New York Full ‘N Soft Mascara.Repeat if required.

Lips:

  • This is all about the lips. So start with lining your lips carefully. Use a slightly darker shade than your lipstick. We recommend MAC Portside Cremestick liner.
  • Next, fill in the lips with the liner.
  • Now apply a vibrant MAC Lipstick in Diva.
  • Dust a powder over the completed lip and finish off your look.
