Sex and the City is, without a doubt, one of the most inspiring and cult phenomenons of the 90s following through till today. I mean, the guys even tried to make Entourage their SATC, but that obviously didn’t work. While most of us have grown up watching the girls live through the single life in NYC, the younger generation is right behind us, thanks to Netflix and online streaming—every young lady worth her weight in fashion and with a penchant for finding everlasting love, has obsessed over Candace Bushnell’s fantastic characters.

Office-appropriate and universally flattering, this classic half-updo lets you get away with being slightly casual without looking unkempt at work.

3. The Classic Carrie

This slept-in braids look is easy to create and maintain. All you need is a little mousse and a whole lotta braiding technique. On the night before, dampen your locks, add a little styling mousse, and tie them into 5-6 tight braids (the tighter the braids, the tighter the curls). Wake up with signature Carrie Bradshaw hair the next morning—it’s my go-to trick!

4. Samantha’s Cowgirl Pigtails

They’re naughty and innocent at the same time—a look only Sam Jones could pull off. We dare you to try it though—checkquered crop top and hot pants, optional.

5. The Sophisticated Bun

She sure rocks that hair do too! The less-severe cousin of the fresh chignon, this twisty tail is all about finding the right length of hair to curl and layer in the front.

6. Bed Head Hair

Can we just take a minute to appreciate all the fashion fabulousness in this picture? Thank you. Now about Ms Bradshaw’s tresses—volume at just the right length is the key. Notice how the top is flat and the ends have bigger curls? That’s because she’s focused the hairstyle on the midsection. It’s very 80s, but in a controlled way.

7. Miranda’s No-Nonsense, But Totally Sexy Lob

The girl was rockin’ the poker straight lob way before Victoria Beckham.

8. The Half-Up Down Ponytail

For days when your hair decides it has a mind of its own, and it’s usually all over the place; you take the top section and you pin it back into a ponytail that blends with the rest of your volume-loving tresses. That’s what Carrie does.

9. Charlotte’s Wavy Perfection

We can probably count the number of times we’ve seen Charlotte York not look like her perfect self, on one hand. She’s always so well put-together, and that hair…not a strand out of place. We’re suffering from a serious case of hair jealousy right now. To achieve Charlotte’s look, use a curling tong to create loose outward waves instantly.

10. The “It’s My Wedding Diva Updo”

It’s too bad that particular wedding didn’t happen, on that particular day. Regardless though, she does look amazing working that crystal-sheer hybrid head accessory for her exclusive Vogue pre-bridal shoot. We’re in love with this tangled mess!
